Why to adopt a homeless pet instead of buying from a pet store:
Each year in this country, millions of healthy, adoptable cats and dogs are killed in shelters because there are not enough homes for them all.
Animals that are adopted from a local shelter
receive their first set of shots, vaccines, and
are spayed or neutered. Even with all of these
services provided, the adoption fee is still much
less expensive than a pet store that often charges
hundreds or thousands of dollars for a pet that
does not have first shots and is not spayed or
neutered.
Oftentimes pet stores charge all this money for purebreds, but local rescues and shelters have many purebreds to choose from as well as wonderful mixed breeds, puppies, and kittens.
There is no reason to turn to a pet store for your next pet. You can get animals of all breeds, colors, sizes, and ages from local rescues and shelters.
