Founded in 2002, Humane Ohio is non-profit, low-cost spay/neuter clinic that serves all area pet parents, people caring for free-roaming cats, animal shelters and rescue groups. We provide compassion, the highest standard of care, and low-cost spay/neuter services to animals and people in need well beyond the immediate Toledo area. We are leading the spay/neuter efforts to reduce the number of unwanted litters, the first step in lowering the number of animals unnecessarily euthanized in shelters each year.

In 2006, Humane Ohio opened a high-quality, low-cost spay/neuter clinic. This space moved us closer to our goal of a community without homeless pets where every resident has access to high-quality, affordable spay/neuter. In September 2009, we moved to our new, larger facility where we will spay/neuter as many as 14,000 animals every year.

Humane Ohio's low-cost spay/neuter clinic uses state of the art instruments and equipment. We do not cut corners or quality. All spay/neuter surgeries are performed by qualified, licensed vets (DVMs) and all animals entrusted to Humane Ohio are attended to before and after spay/neuter surgery by trained veterinary technicians. Every patient receives a brief physical exam and quality pain medication. At our clinic, we believe that all animals should receive the highest quality veterinary care possible, even if the services rendered are at a reduced cost.
