LAMBERTVILLE HARDWARE PET STAR SEARCH
Now through Sunday, May 19, 2013:
Do you think your pet is a star? Drop-off a picture of your pet(s) - cats, dogs and other animals - in person to Lambertville Hardware (8100 Secor Road, Lambertville, MI 48144), and it could end up in the Lambertville Hardware sale ads (must include name and phone number; photos will NOT be returned). The hardware staff will choose their top 10 favorites and those pictures will be displayed in the store from May 24th to June 16th with a donation canister in front of each one.
Customers can vote for their favorite photo by putting a donation in any amount in the jar in front of their favorite photo; all donations will benefit Humane Ohio! The pet(s) whose photo receives the most donations will win a photoshoot at Lambertville Hardware and the photos will be featured in upcoming Lambertville Hardware ads. The two runner ups will get the photo they submitted in an ad too!

FREE PET TRANSPORTATION TO/FROM HUMANE OHIO!
Starting in July 2013: We are offering a pet transportation service for pet parents and free-roaming cat caretakers who want to take advantage of Humane Ohio's low-cost spay/neuter prices, but don't have transportation or can't get to Humane Ohio at our normal drop-off and pick-up times. We're partnering with the Chester Ziblocki Senior Center and That Neighborhood Church on the north side; the Providence Center on the south side; the East Toledo Family Center on the east side; the Mayores Senior Center on the west side. These locations will serve as the drop-off and pick-up points for animals. Transports will run from each location at least once a month. Click here for locations and dates, then call our transport coordinator Dena Clark at 567-395-7500 to reserve your spot (appointments only, no walk-ups).

ATTENTION 43605, 43609 AND 43615 ZIP CODES
We have secured funding from PetSmart Charities® that allows us to spay/neuter owned and free-roaming cats in Toledo's 43605, 43609 and 43615 zip codes for FREE! If you live in one of these areas and have an owned cat, or care for a friendly stray or feral/wild cat, please give us a call at 419-266-5607 (proof of residency required). Help us spread the word!
Flyer: FREE Spay/Neuter in 43605, 43609 and 43615
Previously, Humane Ohio fixed 2,516 cats from the 43605 and 43609 zip codes and placed over 260 friendly strays and kittens into Planned Pethood's adoption program. As a result, the Toledo Area Humane Society's cat intake went down by 34% in the 43605 zip code and 50% in the 43609 zip code! To continue this past success, FREE spay/neuter for cats in the three target zip codes mentioned above will be offered on an ongoing basis until we fix another 2,917 free-roaming and owned cats.

WE'RE THROWING A PITTY PARTY
Spay/neuter promotion for pit bulls: Fix-a-Bull ($5!)
The Lucas County Dog Warden has secured funding from PetSmart Charities® to allow 500 pit bulls to be spayed/neutered (at Humane Ohio) for $5 each. The Fix-a-Bull promotion also includes a microchip to help reunite lost dogs and owners. This promotion kicked off in April 2012 and will run for at least a year. The Lucas County Dog Warden requires that dogs live in Lucas County and have a current dog license to qualify for this promotion; must provide proof of both at time of spay/neuter. Must purchase license in advance of your spay/neuter appointment. Licenses are NOT available at Humane Ohio (click here to find out where dog licenses ARE sold).
If you have a pit bull that needs to be fixed, please call Humane Ohio at 419-266-5607 to schedule your spay/neuter appointment. Must mention Fix-a-Bull.
