Schedule a TNR (Community Cat) Appointment

Humane Ohio TNR Scheduling Guide

Community cat scheduling is now available! Click here to schedule or see the link below to get your community cats fixed. Please note: our community cat package has been updated for 2026. The cost is now $45 that includes: spay/neuter, rabies and FVRCP vaccines, Bravecto (topical 3-month flea prevention applied in house), and ear-tip

        • Cats MUST come in a appropriately sized live trap. Minimum size of 32"(L)x10"(W)x10"(H). Cats in carriers will not be accepted and no exceptions will be made!
              • If a cat is brought in anything other than a live trap, you will be charged a mandatory fee of $15 for Humane Ohio staff to transfer the cat into a live trap and charged $100 deposit while the trap is in use during the appointment. You will have 7 business days to return the live trap to Humane Ohio, and your deposit of $100 will be refunded to you. The carrier the cat was brought in will be held as collateral until the trap is returned.
              • If you do not have a live trap to use for your appointment, you can rent one from Humane Ohio ahead of time for lower cost and for 30 day window instead of just 7 business days. Find out how here.

        • DO NOT TRAP ANY CATS UNTIL YOU HAVE A CONFIRMED APPOINTMENT. Walk-ins will NOT be accepted!

        • There is a limit of 3 cats per person/household. The name of the person dropping off must match the name on the admission form, or live in the same household. You may have up to three pending appointments at a time. Once those three appointments have been completed, more appointments may be requested.

        • If you are unsure of the sex of the cat you are bringing in, please schedule as a female.
                    • A male neuter surgery takes much less time compared to a female spay surgery. When preparing our schedule, we take that time into consideration so we are able to keep patients safe and devote the appropriate time and care to each patient.
                    • If a male appointment is scheduled and you do not know the sex of your cat, that cat may be turned away for surgery that day at the discretion of our staff.

        • If you scheduled a TNR appointment, the cat(s) you bring in must receive the community cat package (surgery, rabies and FVRCP vaccines, Bravecto topical 3-month flea prevention applied in house, and ear-tip), no exceptions. If you decide to not ear-tip the cat, you will need to reschedule your appointment as an owned pet. If you requested an appointment online for an owned indoor cat via the community cat link, your appointment will be cancelled.

        • Community cat appointments are intended for cats who live primarily outside. Humane Ohio has subsidized the cost of the outdoor cat package to encourage the public to get their community cats fixed. Humane Ohio's definition of an outdoor community cat as the following: a cat living completely outside; a cat living in a temperature controlled barn, shed, or garage; any cat that is allowed to go outside the family home.

What to expect the day of your appointment

Drop-off for community cats is at 8:30AM. Check-in may take up to an hour, so please plan accordingly and dress weather appropriate.

Please leave the cat(s) in a temperature controlled vehicle and proceed to the foyer of the building to be greeted and checked-in by a staff member. To safely manage the flow of people and pets, we use a text-based waitlist system so you may wait your turn with your pets comfortably in your vehicle. You will be asked to provide a cell phone number that you have on your person by the check-in staff (or inform them if you do not have a cell phone or a vehicle to wait in). You will receive two text messages, one confirming you have been added to the waitlist and one when it's time to bring your pet inside the clinic.

Pick-up is the following day between 9:30AM and 12PM. Humane Ohio's lobby is closed daily from 12-1PM.
